‘Atleti enjoying vertigo’

Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone says his side are enjoying the pressure of trying to close out the La Liga title.

As well as having a lead at the top of their domestic League, the Rojiblancos also face the mouth-watering prospect of an all Madrid Champions League final against arch rivals Real Madrid.

However, in a question and answer session on social media, the Argentine reiterated the need for his team to continue taking one match at a time.

“It’s going to be three exciting weeks,” Simeone is quoted as saying by Marca. “We need to live them with calm and work hard.

“More than adrenalin, we have vertigo! I have experienced a lot of this during my career. We like this vertigo and we are enjoying it.

“You always have to believe and we do believe. We are not feeling pressure from these weeks, we will approach the upcoming games well and we need to respond.

“I don’t think that the squad is tired coming up to the end of the season.

“Our reality is to go game by game. That will be the objective until the end. But we are not a perfect team, we can win and we can lose.

“It’s true that we have the chance to become champions, but all we can think about is doing well against Malaga and we will concentrate on them.

“The Double? We are thinking about Malaga, we are respectful and if we don’t think about them it’s not productive.”
