Van Gaal agrees Man Utd deal?

Reports in the Dutch Press insist that Louis Van Gaal has agreed to become Manchester United manager next season.

The rumour-mill has been in overdrive since news that David Moyes had been sacked by the Premier League champions last week.

After 10 months in charge, the Scotsman was given his marching orders, having guided the Red Devils to seventh place in the table – with a club-record for fewest amount of points.

Several Coaches have since been linked with the post. Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid tacticians Diego Simeone and Carlo Ancelotti were both thought to be on a shortlist, as was Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp.

However, De Telegraaf insist that the Netherlands national team boss has agreed terms with the Old Trafford outfit and will take charge after the World Cup.

Manchester United meanwhile released a statement to the Press, saying: “There is nothing to report. We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it.”
