Koke: No limit for Atletico

Koke believes Atletico Madrid can achieve anything this season but is reluctant to speak of winning the title.

A 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames on Saturday maintained Atletico’s lead at the top of the table and with the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona on Tuesday, Koke told reporters that Atletico can realise their goals.

He is, however, following the lead of Coach Diego Simeone and not considering the team’s chances of landing the League title.

“The Coach has said it already – until there are five games left, we won’t talk about the title,” Koke said.

“But Atletico has no limits. Every game is the final. We have one final on Tuesday [against Barcelona] and another on Saturday [against Villarreal].

“My whole body hurts but we have a couple of days to rest,” the scorer of the winning goal against Athletic added.

“We knew we were going to play at a difficult place and we were expecting it to be hard.”

Diego Costa scored the equaliser for Atleti after Iker Muniain but the home side in front.

Koke revealed the victory was dependant on getting Costa in space, as has been the case all season.

“Diego needed space and we found it. Then he put us level.

“He’s great. We’ve seen him do that from the start of the season and I hope it continues.”
