Pepe will not give up on Real Madrid winning La Liga this season despite dropping to third with defeat to Sevilla.
A Carlos Bacca double overturned Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener and speaking to Canal+ after the match, the defender insisted the title race is far from over.
“Well done to Sevilla. They fought hard,” Pepe said.
“We couldn’t win this match but there’s a lot left for this season.
“We’re still at the top and we’ll fight until the end. We’ll try to win on Saturday.
“We’ll keep fighting as long as the club is still in it.”
Pepe added that he felt Madrid effectively beat themselves, with Sevilla taking advantage of a poor Los Blancos performance.
“Sevilla didn’t have to do much to win. They had two chances and scored two goals,” the Portugal international continued.
“These things happen. We need to regroup and prepare ourselves to play Rayo Vallecano.
“We have to focus, avoid mistakes and keep fighting.”
