Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has said that whoever Barcelona were drawn to play in the Champions League would be difficult.
As it transpired La Blaugrana were drawn to play Atletico Madrid and Zubi added that while Barca are familiar with Los Colchoneros, it doesn’t make them any easier to play.
“It was the strongest Champions League quarter final draw,” Zubizarreta told reporters.
“Everyone would be complicated but Atletico are one of the strongest teams in Europe.
“We are though used to playing them at home and in Vicente Calderon.”
The sides drew 0-0 in their last League meeting in January and will play each other again in the final round of La Liga fixtures in May.
