Jese to have surgery in Germany

Real Madrid have announced that Jese Rodriguez will undergo surgey in Augsburg after sustaining a serious knee ligament injury.

The 21-year-old was stretchered off during Los Blancos’ Champions League win over Schalke last night and today boarded a plane to Germany, where it is understood he will have the operation tomorrow.

“The Real Madrid player Jese Rodriguez has completely ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee,” a statement on the club’s official website said earlier today.

“In a few hours’ time he will fly to be treated by the doctor Ulrich Boenisch in Augsburg, Germany, who will study the injury and prepare for the surgery.

“The consultation will be supervised by Real Madrid doctors Jesus Olmo and Francisco Morate.”
