Mixed Man City emotions in Barca loss

Manchester City assistant manager Ruben Cousillas has revealed that the club have mixed emotions about the Champions League tie with Barcelona.

Cousillas filled in for the suspended Manuel Pellegrini at the post-match Press conference following the 2-1 defeat on the night, which translated into a 4-1 defeat on aggregate.

He said that Pellegrini shared his thoughts with the team after the match and disclosed that the manager was going through a range of reactions after the final whistle.

“[Pellegrini] was satisfied with the team performance but we're not happy with the result and with losing the tie,” Cousillas said.

“We played a great game against a very good opponent.

“Also, it's always very difficult to play against a very important team like Barca with 10 men, that's why we're frustrated but happy with the team performance.

“We thought that against Barca who have very good players in the midfield, we needed to balance this a little bit.

“That's why we tried to play with one more midfielder and I think the result was good in our performance.”
