Xavi Hernandez believes Barcelona fully deserved to progress to the Champions League quarter finals against Manchester City.
Barca won 2-1 on the night in the second leg and 4-1 on aggregate and the midfielder spoke to UEFA’s official website after the final whistle.
“At times and certain key moments City played well. They are a good team but we were in control,” the midfielder said.
“We have achieved our objective of getting to the quarter final and we’re happy to have done so.
“We looked to keep possession for long periods and play with patience. We can play like we did tonight or in other ways.
“The fans were sensational. They created a terrific atmosphere and really got behind us.”
