Real Madrid have made three changes from the side that beat Schalke on Wednesday as they take on Atletico Madrid this afternoon.

Goalkeeper Diego Lopez comes in for his usual place between the sticks in the League, whilst Fabio Coentrao and Alvaro Arbeloa play at left and right back.

Carlo Ancelotti though, has decided not to tinker with his forward options, keeping Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema up front.

Luka Modric, Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria complete the midfield three.

The home side meanwhile, go with a 4-2-3-1 formation, led by new Spain international Diego Costa.

Raul Garcia has been preferred to David Villa, playing in the hole behind the Brazil-born striker.

Atletico Madrid: Courtois; Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Filipe; Mario, Gabi; Koke, Raúl García, Arda; Diego Costa

Real Madrid: Diego López, Arbeloa, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Coentrao, Xabi Alonso, Modric, Di María, Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo
