‘Some people will have to shut up’

Cesc Fabregas has claimed that the critics will have to ‘shut up’ after Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Manchester City.

The Blaugrana beat Manuel Pellegrini’s side thanks to a penalty from Lionel Messi and a goal from Dani Alves.

And after the Catalans had come in for some criticism – especially from Jose Mourinho – the midfielder has insisted that they have won in style.

“Basically, we are top of the League, we had a great result tonight and we are in the Copa final,” he told ITV.

“The fans put a lot of pressure on us, but that’s why we’re such a special team.

“Maybe we had a point to prove tonight, but we played a good game and got a good result.

“Some people were talking a bit too much, but they will have to shut up for a few days now.”
