Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the winner of the 2013 Ballon d’Or, and has admitted it is a ‘huge honour’.
The Real Madrid forward beat Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery to the FIFA prize, and an emotional Ronaldo thanked a host of people at the ceremony in Zurich.
“I want to thank colleagues, my family – it is a huge honour,” he said. “It was very hard to win this award.
“It’s thanks to the President and a lot of other people that I’m here.
“I also want to mention Eusebio.”
