Diego Simeone admitted his Atletico Madrid team ‘lacked speed and accuracy’ against Sant Andreu.
The capital club beat their lower league opponents 2-1 this evening – 6-1 on aggregate – thanks to goals from Hernandez and Toby Alderweireld.
“We lacked speed and accuracy in the final third,” he told a Press conference. “The match could have been resolved much earlier if we had been better in front of goal.
“I also want to congratulate the opponent though – they defended well and played with great enthusiasm.
“My players showed commitment though, and that is important to me.
“I’m very happy to have the squad I do.”
