Villarreal boss Marcelino has admitted that their Copa del Rey win over Elche was decided ‘by the details’.
The Yellow Submarine beat the promoted side 1-0 this evening – 3-2 on aggregate – thanks to a second half Jeremy Perbet goal.
“Elche play a very organized game,” he told a Press conference. “They made it very complicated for us.
“We had control, but we lacked the depth.
“Our intention was to pass – we had that ambition. But like I say, Elche made it tough.
“We managed to get through though, because of the details.”
