Sampaoli: Chile has to beat the best

Chile Coach Jorge Sampaoli says his side will have to beat the best if they are to make any kind of impact at next year’s World Cup.

The South Americans have been drawn in Group B alongside Spain, Holland and Australia and the 53-year-old did not mince his words at the challenge that lies ahead.

“To do anything important at a World Cup you must beat the best. It’s a very tough group because of the quality of our rivals,” the Argentine told reporters.

“We will be up against the winners and runners-up from the last tournament and Australia are also a strong side.

“We’ll have to prepare really well and with a lot of respect, knowing we will be playing against the top teams, and our team play is going to vital.”
