Ronaldo level with Sanchez

Cristiano Ronaldo has moved level with legend Hugo Sanchez in the scoring stakes at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese star equalled Sanchez’s League haul for Madrid by notching his 164th La Liga goal against Almeria on Saturday, making him the joint fourth top goalscorer in the club’s history.

Only three players now lie ahead of Ronaldo: Santillana (186), Di Stefano (216) and Raul (228).

It took Sanchez 207 matches to reach the 164-goal mark, while Ronaldo has achieved it in just 149 appearances at a rate of 1.1 goals a match, compared to the Mexican’s 0.79.

Cristiano has now amassed a total of 67 this calendar year and has been in brilliant form recently, scoring 14 times in seven games.
