‘Not normal to score so many’

Julen Lopegtegui enthused at Spain’s ‘work’ in comfortably dispatching Bosnia-Herzegovina, reflecting also that: “it is not normal to score so many goals.”

La Rojita continued their high-scoring exploits in European Under-21 Championship qualification with a 6-1 win in Zenica thanks to an own goal from Tomislav Baristic to equalise the hosts’ early lead, before two from Oliver Torres and strikes from Alvaro Morata, Iker Muniain and Gerard Deulofeu sealed the result.

“We are happy, satisfied by the work and against a good team like Bosnia,” mused Lopetegui post-match.

“During the first half hour we faced many difficulties, with great speed and dangerous counter-attacks.

“The first half was not a 3-1, it did not deserve to go like that, but we had great success in front of goal.

“And in the second half we have played our game, moving the ball with speed and we have scored more goals.

“I am very satisfied. It is not normal to score so many goals. In the second half we could have scored more, even.”
