Barca target Pjanic will commit to Roma

Barcelona target Miralem Pjanic has claimed that he is willing to sign a new contract with Roma.

The playmaker’s future with the Serie A leaders has been in some doubt with his contract set to expire in 2015.

Numerous clubs, including Barcelona, Tottenham and Manchester United are said to be keen, but the Bosnia international has insisted that he wants to stay in the Italian capital.

“I still have a year and a half left on my agreement,” the man signed from Lyon in 2011 commented. “We’ll have to see what happens.

“I’m very happy here and the club is aware of that fact. When the time comes to talk then we will do so, but they already know my thoughts.”

The 23-year-old was linked with a move during the summer, but new boss Rudi Garcia has found an integral role for him in the side.

“He told me instantly upon his arrival that he wanted me in his team and that he would give me an important role.

“I immediately felt his faith and I know that I can improve as a player with him.”

Pjanic has three goals in 11 games so far this campaign.
