Ryan Giggs has refused to blame Robin Van Persie for Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.
The Netherlands international missed from the penalty spot as the Premier League side could only claim a point at the Anoeta.
“I think tonight we controlled the game,” he told ITV. “We created three great chances and probably should have won the game.
“Robin normally scores for fun so you can’t blame him for missing the penalty – it happens to everyone.
“I think if you get a point away from home and win your home games [in Europe], then you usually go through.”
