Alessandro Nesta has voiced his disapproval at the standard of officiating during Juventus’ 2-1 defeat at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos won the Champions League Group B meeting on Wednesday evening thanks to a double from Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, scrutiny was on the match officials, for the award of a penalty in the first half that led to Ronaldo’s second, and then for Giorgio Chiellini’s straight red card early in the second half for a professional foul on the Portuguese.
Former Italian international defender Nesta was watching the game and took to his official Twitter account to post his views.
“Stop the Real-Juve referee,” wrote the former Milan man during the match last night.
“They would never blow up for that penalty in Italy, but they would in Europe.
“We’re OK up until that point. What is not right is the dismissal.”
