Allegri full of praise for Kaka

Massimiliano Allegri singled out Kaka for praise due to his work ethic as Milan held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw.

“I’d say the lads had a good performance and we allowed little to Barcelona, as well as creating our own chances. We made a mistake on the goal and were penalised,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It followed the same path as last season’s game, even if we defended a little deeper this time, but had more scoring opportunities.

“I’m happy with what the lads did tonight, it’s a good point, especially looking at Celtic’s result this evening.”

Kaka made his Champions League ‘comeback’ for Milan and was all over the pitch.

“Kaka had an extraordinary game and he proved he is a champion. I don’t mean just in technical terms, as we all know that, but he worked so hard and even acted as a full-back at times when harassing the Barcelona players.

“Kaka proved once again to be a champion it’s not enough to have great feet, but to work hard and put the effort in.”

The Rossoneri seemed much more attentive at the back compared to recent outings.

“When you play these games, especially against Barcelona, you need a thousand eyes because they come at you from all angles. The concentration was there from defenders, but also midfielders and forwards.

“Concentration is crucial against a side like Barcelona. We played well going forward, though we should’ve changed the moves around a bit more. I’m satisfied with what we did.

“It becomes difficult for Barcelona to find space. We suffered a little on our left in the first half, as Kevin Constant was forced to stay closer to Alexis Sanchez and that left Dani Alves too much room. The midfielder should’ve gone to help and he did in the second half, when we suffered much less.”
