Morata delighted with start & win

Alvaro Morata was delighted with his start and Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Malaga on Saturday.

Goals from Angel Di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo gave Los Blancos all three points at Santiago Bernabeu yesterday.

And the youngster has admitted his delight at starting the match ahead of Karim Benzema, and coming away with a win.

"I am very happy to have helped the team,” he told the club’s official website.

“We worked hard, played well and achieved important thing, which was to take the three points. We were very, very good in the first part, and deserved a goal with the chances that we created.

“The goal after the break did justice to our great first half and we have to keep going along the same lines. The coach had asked us to defend with eleven players and it is clear that we did.

“The higher we press means that we will have more chances to rob the ball. We're doing it better every match.

“You have to make good use of every minute you get here, press hard and give your best. You never know when it might be the last match. I am very happy to be here and with the Under-21s.

“The better I do with Real Madrid means I will be rewarded with Spain Under-21s. I am very grateful to the fans, my teammates and the coaching staff and I will keep working hard and scoring goals.

“The work is going well and the goals will come".
