‘We’re all fighting for same goal’

Alvaro Negredo has acknowledged the competition he has in the Spain team and so has determined to make the most of the chances he gets.

The Manchester City man proved a notable performer in La Roja’s closing World Cup qualifier on Tuesday evening, opening the scoring in the team’s eventual 2-0 win over Georgia.

On from a goal from the substitute’s bench last Friday against Belarus, the 28-year-old has considered his chances of making the World Cup squad next summer.

“We are all fighting for the same objective, to be in the team and I have been lucky enough to play the entire game and score the goal.

“I am grateful for the minutes and try to make the most of them, it is always important and hopefully many more will come.

“It is a success for Spain to be at the World Cup, it is always positive and despite us being favourites for the group, we always have to work to achieve it.”
