Atleti in line for Kagawa

Atletico Madrid are speculated as plotting to move in the January market for a No 10 and could pick up Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa.

The Japanese international has so far struggled for regular playing time since a 2012 move to Old Trafford and this week admitted that he is ‘fighting to survive’ at the club after limited minutes under David Moyes.

It is a situation that has led now to speculation in England and Spain that Atleti may look to the 24-year-old in January.

The belief is that Moyes may be open to sending the player out to the Spanish team, but that Atleti’s intentions for the player are somewhat dampened as he is already cup-tied for the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with coming back in for Kagawa, as the side that sold him to United 18 months ago.
