‘Madrid will come out strongly’

Olof Mellberg has admitted that Copenhagen will ‘need a bit of everything’ if they are to get a result tonight against Real Madrid.

The Danes are in the Spanish capital for Wednesday’s second round of Champions League matches and can take encouragement from having held Group B rivals Juventus to an opening day draw.

“There is hope, but this will be a totally different game,” mused Copenhagen defender Mellberg to reporters pre-game.

“I feel Madrid will come out very strongly. It will be a very complicated encounter for us. We will have to put more pressure on them than we did on Juve in Copenhagen.

“In order to get something out of the game we will have to put in a great performance, get them on a bad day and also have a bit of luck on our side. We will need a bit of everything.”
