Fernando Llorente has dismissed concerns over his slow introduction to life at Juventus, as he reflects on a first goal for the team.
The 28-year-old’s failure to find playing time with the Italians this season saw early season speculation grow of possible discontent and a January exit on the horizon.
However, in being handed a first start at the weekend and responding with the winning goal for Juve, the striker has made clear his situation.
“I normally take a bit of time to hit form and knew I’d have to work a great deal, also because I pretty much missed the whole of last season,” Llorente told reporters this week.
“In addition I needed to settle in and learn the language – and adapting to a new environment is never an easy task for anyone.
“I’m getting on great here and feel the Coach has faith in me, but I know I need to keep working to get back into peak condition.
“I didn’t expect to net on my debut. I’m happy about scoring and contributing to the team’s victory.”
