Marcelo hopes for quick return

Marcelo has asserted his ambition to return to action for Real Madrid ‘soon’, as he reflects on the club’s desire for this season.

The Brazilian is one of a handful of Madrid’s players to have returned from international duty this week injured, having suffered a thigh strain at the weekend.

However, at the club’s presentation of their new third kit, the full-back asserted his optimism for a quick recovery.

“I’m getting better every day, I hope to be able to play soon,” reflected Marcelo, before turning his attention to the team’s new orange number.

“It is a very strong colour and I hope that it gives us energy and strength to win our games in the League and Champions League.

“We want to go as far as possible in the Champions League, we know it is hard but we have the ambition to bring great joy to the fans.”

This weekend sees the team travel out to Villarreal.

“We are well, we have a strong team. The match against Villarreal will be difficult as they are at home, but with ambition we will win.”

Marcelo was asked for a message for Madrid’s fans.

“We will continue working hard, trying to win every game and possibly titles. We are going to do our best to win and to leave Madrid at the top.”
