Marcelo to miss three games?

Marcelo is seen as likely to miss Real Madrid’s next three games, having reportedly suffered a thigh injury on international duty.

The full-back was pulled off during the latter stages of the first half of Brazil’s 6-0 win over Australia on Saturday.

Suspicions are that he has suffered a thigh strain and that it will almost certainly rule him out for at least two weeks and therefore Madrid’s upcoming fixtures with Villarreal, Galatasaray and Getafe.

Seen as likely to be targeting a comeback against Elche in the midweek round of Week 6 or against Atletico Madrid in Week 7’s derby, the player is set to be deputised by either Fabio Coentrao or Alvaro Arbeloa.

Tests to reveal the true extent of Marcelo’s injury will be carried out by Madrid team doctors on Monday.
