Guardado prefers Valencia lifestyle

Andres Guardado has called on the Mexican media to take a more relaxed approach to their coverage, as he sees they do in Valencia.

Los Che’s winger, who is currently out on duty with Mexico for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Honduras, believes that there is less scrutiny on a player’s lifestyle in Spain than in his homeland.

“The Press exaggerates and takes everything like it is something serious,” Guardado has commented to ESPN this week.

“When in Valencia, I can go into the centre of the city and have a beer or a glass of wine, it is very common here and people see you and take it for granted.

“In Mexico, if you are drinking a beer there, they take your picture, put it on Twitter and say that you are drunk.”
