Real Madrid release Adan

Real Madrid have confirmed that they have terminated Antonio Adan’s contract, releasing him from the final year of his deal.

This course of action had been expected through the summer, with the player permitted to negotiate with other clubs over a proposed move, on the understanding he would be made available on a free transfer.

Whilst the 26-year-old, who last season briefly deputised for Iker Casillas, has failed to find a new club so far, he has now officially been released from his Madrid contract, as per a statement posted by Los Blancos on their website today.

“Real Madrid and Antonio Adan have terminated the contract linking the player with the club,” read the posting.

“Real Madrid appreciate his professionalism and love for the club and we wish him luck in his new stage.”
