Thibaut Courtois would like to mark his 100th appearance for Atletico Madrid with a first win against Barcelona.
The Belgian is into his third season on loan at the Vicente Calderon from Chelsea and is set to reach treble figures in appearances for Atleti in tonight’s home leg of the Supercopa de Espana.
“I would like to win against Barcelona as it is something I have not yet done,” reflected Courtois in anticipation of the final, which has a return leg at the Camp Nou next Wednesday.
“For a two-legged game we know it is going to be difficult.
“In other countries, or even with the European Super Cup, the trophy is determined at only one game.
“But here there are two. Which makes it more complicated.
“But we will go for Barcelona and for the title.”
