Diego Costa took more value from Atletico Madrid’s three points against Sevilla on Sunday than from the two goals he managed.
The Brazilian helped settle matters in Seville in Atleti’s favour with two strikes in an eventual 3-1 win, to begin the 2013-14 season with three points.
“I am very happy for the goals, but mainly for the result,” reflected Costa to reporters.
“We had to start strong, and we have done well. The fundamental and most important aspect is that all of the team is going well.
“The Coach pushes us a lot and has us physically well prepared.”
The Brazilian received a poor reception from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but continued his recent good form against Sevilla, which is now at five goals from the last four appearances.
“I always try to score here and I have done so again and hopefully it continues that way.
“The opponent was strong, had quality and the game was complicated. But we handled it well.”
