Pabon nears Valencia switch

Valencia are thought to be on the verge of signing striker Dorlan Pabon from Monterrey, claims ABC de Sevilla.

The Colombian international signed for the Mexican outfit from Parma in January this year and was subsequently loaned to Real Betis for the rest of the season.

Pabon, 25, had a short but successful time with Los Beticos, notching eight goals in 17 La Liga games, and Los Che are now believed to be in advanced negotiations to take him to Mestalla.

Betis boss Pepe Mel was understood to be keen to keep Pabon at the Benito Villamarin, but Monterrey’s demands were well in excess of what the Andalusians were willing to pay.

Now, however, a deal could be imminent as Valencia are reported to have offered around €7m for the player.

Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic has been combing the market to reinforce his forward line since the sale of Roberto Soldado to Tottenham Hotspur, having already completed the signing of Helder Postiga from Real Zaragoza.
