Barcelona have confirmed that winger Cristian Tello will not play a part in the team’s traditional preseason fixture the Gamper Trophy this Friday.
The 21-year-old was substituted during the first half of Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Lechia Gdansk with a suspected hamstring injury.
Tests have now confirmed that the player has strained the muscle in his left thigh and subsequently will not feature in plans for the upcoming Gamper Trophy match.
Santos are the visitors to the Camp Nou for this Friday’s match, which is speculated to see their former striker Neymar line up for the first time with Lionel Messi.
Tello’s recovery is not yet specified, with his availability for upcoming games to be determined only by the injury’s evolution.
