Sevilla’s new signing Diogo Figueiras has reflected that the club’s former full-back Dani Alves is his inspiration and reference point for success.
The Andalucians today presented their latest signing to the assembled media, a 22-year-old Portuguese right-back with aspirations of replicating the current Barcelona defender.
“From the start I liked the idea of coming to Sevilla. Playing in Spain was part of my childhood dreams and Sevilla was my first choice,” Figueiras told reporters.
“For me, Dani Alves is the best right-back in the world and he is my reference. I would like to achieve what he has, I have a lot of ambition.
“I am a full-back with speed, technique and I am very attacking. I can also handle things defensively.
“Here we have very good players and I also like the work of the Coach.
“We will try to do the best we can in the League and in Europe, where we have the chance of playing for a trophy.”
