‘Madrid the greatest in history’

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he has joined ‘the greatest club in history’ after moving from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid.

The Italian tactician is preparing to face his old side tonight in a friendly at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothnburg, Sweden.

And the 54-year-old has conceded that both clubs have the same ambitions going forward.

“Madrid and PSG have the same ambitions, but one is a young club and the other is the greatest in history,” he told a Press conference.

“PSG are a work in progress and it isn’t easy, because it isn’t enough just to buy players.

“It’s clear that they have worked hard to build a great team. They bought fantastic players last season and now they need time.

“On the other hand, Madrid are also backed up by their history.

“It’s a good time to face my old team and share the memories we have together.

“We’ve only been in training for two weeks and this is the hardest task yet.”
