Emery: Sevilla are competitive

Unai Emery has enthused at Sevilla’s work in the transfer window this summer and sees his team as ‘competitive’ for the new season.

Los Nervionenses have lost the likes of Andres Palop, Luis Alberto, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo this transfer window so far.

However, in bringing in Marko Marin, Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gameiro amongst others, the team’s Coach is satisfied heading into 2013-14.

“We wanted to have a competitive team and I believe that we have succeeded,” Emery told reporters this week.

“Now we have to work and polish those ideas and that mentality that we have created with the team. We will unite the new people and those already here.

“The team is competitive because it has two people per position in competition.

“There will always be someone putting pressure on each position someone is playing in and I believe that this is necessary.”
