Ancelotti Jnr in at Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly appointed his son Davide Ancelotti to the Real Madrid coaching staff, as he prepares for preseason’s start on Monday.

The Italian tactician agreed a three-year deal to take over as Madrid Coach this summer, replacing Jose Mourinho in the hotseat.

Flying in to Madrid yesterday ahead of beginning work in his new role today, Ancelotti is reported today by Marca as having brought in another new face to the coaching team.

On from appointing Paul Clement alongside Zinedine Zidane as joint assistant Coaches and Giovanni Mauri as fitness Coach, it is believed that the former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain boss has incorporated his son, Davide Ancelotti, into the staff.

Ancelotti Jnr, who played at youth level with Milan and then at lower League level in Italy, will apparently work as assistant to Mauri.

Set to turn 24 later this month, Davide carries a degree in sports science and will reportedly act as fitness trainer Mauri’s right hand man and also take in elements of work with youth teams at Madrid.
