Pep: Neymar should have joined me

Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola reportedly told Neymar’s father his son should have joined him at Bayern Munich.

According to Radio Globo, Guardiola tried to pressure his new club Bayern into signing the Santos striker, and allegedly told the player’s father ‘Neymar would have a real chance of becoming the best player in the world’.

Guardiola is understood to have also suggested that current Barca boss Tito Vilanova would not know how to play the Brazilian alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.

Representatives from Italian giants Milan are also believed to have entered into negotiations with Neymar’s father, although the player always insisted his preference lay in a move to Barca.

Radio Globo’s information appears to contradict what Guardiola said in a Press conference some days ago, when he commented that ‘Neymar and Messi would work well together’.
