Villarreal have reached agreement with Real Mallorca for the transfer of Giovani dos Santos, according to AS.
Club President Fernando Roig announced the news before the unveiling of midfielder Tomas Pina on Tuesday evening.
“Not only is Pina arriving, but one of his teammates from Mallorca also, Dos Santos,” revealed Roig.
Dos Santos will officially join his new colleagues on July 18, having penned a four-year contract with the Yellow Submarine, although for the moment the size of transfer fee paid for the Mexican international has not yet been revealed.
The 24-year-old joined the Islanders from Tottenham Hotspur 12 months ago following a disappointing spell at White Hart Lane, but with Los Bermellones suffering relegation on the final day of last season he is part of a number of players set to exit the club this summer.
It is understood Villarreal had to fight off interest from Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy to persuade Dos Santos his future lay at El Madrigal.
