Vicente del Bosque is keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of facing Uruguay, as Spain’s final training session gave away few clues.
Following on from the previous two days of work, La Roja’s 23 staged their final workout at the Arena Pernambuco, the stadium that will host Sunday evening’s Group B Confederations Cup kick-off.
In the 15 minutes of the hour-long session open to the media, little indication was given of Del Bosque’s intentions for his starting XI, with uncertainty still surrounding who between Iker Casillas and Victor Valdes will be in goal.
Speculation, though, is that Roberto Soldado will receive the nod ahead of Fernando Torres and David Villa to lead the attack, where he will be supported by Pedro Rodriguez.
It is thought that Del Bosque may opt to pick a total of eight Barcelona players for the second consecutive international, with midfield said to be shaping up with Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas.
Defence is likely to see Jordi Alba and Alvaro Arbeloa on the flanks, either side of Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique.
Meanwhile, Oscar Tabarez has confirmed that Diego Forlan will only make the bench for the game, with Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani preferred in attack.
Probable line-ups
Spain: Valdes; Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Alba; Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Fabregas; Pedro, Soldado
Uruguay: Muslera; Pereira, Lugano, Godin, Caceres; Ramirez, Gargano, Perez, Rodriguez; Cavani, Suarez
