Florentino Perez has been confirmed as Real Madrid President for another four-year term, after an unopposed election.
Candidates had the final 10 days of May in which to come forward with an application to run at the club, but only Perez did.
Terms for presenting an application included a minimum of 20 years of membership to the club and an endorsement of 15 per cent of Madrid’s annual budget, standing at approximately €75m.
The electoral board at Real Madrid has today approved Perez’ candidacy and he now will continue in the post for another four-year term.
The 66-year-old will be officially reconfirmed in a ceremony on Tuesday. This year saw Perez celebrate a decade as club President, achieved across two non-consecutive terms.
