Madrid, Valencia US tour details

The schedule for the Guinness International Champions Cup has been announced, listing Valencia as participants alongside Real Madrid.

The Spanish duo have had their opening fixtures of this new preseason competition confirmed, with Madrid beginning their tour of the US with a August 1 match with LA Galaxy.

Los Che, meanwhile, are handed home advantage in playing their first game of this friendly tournament at Mestalla on July 27, in the only game that isn’t played on US soil.

The competition is in a knockout cup format, with the winners from each game playing the winners from other games in their half of the draw, and the losers playing the other losers.

In total, each team will play three games, with a series of final, third place, fifth place and seventh place play-offs scheduled for August 6 and 7 at the Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida.

Everton and Juventus complete the line-up on Madrid’s side of the draw, whilst Chelsea and Inter are the other two clubs on Valencia’s side of things.
