Lionel Messi has reflected that Barcelona’s possible signing of Santos star Neymar would be ‘important’.
Neymar is seen as in negotiations with Barca this week over completing a proposed move to La Blaugrana this summer, with some reports indicating that an agreement is already reached for a July switch.
In facing reporters during a promotional trip out to Qatar this week, Messi was asked of the prospect of a possible new teammate.
“Firstly, we do not know if in the end he will sign with Barca, that only he knows,” commented the 25-year-old to Qatar Alkass.
“He is a great player with a very strong advantage in one-on-one situations.
“It is clear that for Barcelona his arrival would be important.”
