‘No problem if Ancelotti asks to go’

Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has reflected that “there would be no problem if Carlos Ancelotti asked to leave.”

The PSG Coach has described his chances of staying at the Parc des Princes beyond the end of this season as ’50-50’, amid speculation that a meeting with Al-Khelaifi this week – postponed now until Sunday – will see him ask to leave in order to sign for Real Madrid.

“Ancelotti has done a great job. With all due respect, I prefer to talk about his future with him,” Al-Khelaifi reflected today in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“A 50-50 chance that he’ll go? His contract is 100 per cent valid for next year.

“But there would be no problem if he asked to leave.

“Did I almost sack him earlier in the season? It is clear that Coaches are under great pressure, as are Presidents.

“I’ve never had problems with him, there is no need to clarify anything.”
