Zapata hopes for Milan stay

Cristian Zapata has indicated that his desire is to complete a permanent transfer from Villarreal to Milan this summer.

The Colombian international has spent the last season on loan at San Siro and the Italian side are said to be interested in taking him permanently this summer.

Even as they push for a reduction from Villarreal on an originally agreed €6m fee, it is a transfer that Zapata is open to.

“I’m happy that Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has appreciated my work this season,” the 26-year-old told Milan Channel today.

“I hope to be playing Champions League football here for this club next season too…”
