Diego Simeone could once more be reunited with Argentine winger Alejandro Gomez, as Catania say Atletico Madrid are discussing a deal.
Gomez, who worked under Simeone’s tutelage both at San Lorenzo and his current Serie A employers, has been linked on and off with an exit from Catania this coming summer.
Atleti, who have been one of the clubs paired with possible interest in the 25-year-old, have been confirmed by Catania’s President as in talks.
“Gomez is very close to Atletico Madrid,” club President Antonino Pulvirenti commented briefly to reporters.
“And it’s very probable that he will be sold.”
