Unai Emery has urged Sevilla to find a consistency and balance to their play in order to take advantage of the chances that remain in this season.
The Andalucians moved to three points behind Real Betis in seventh with a comfortable 3-0 win over Espanyol on Sunday evening.
With Betis in a likely European qualification position, catching them is a possibility, but one that depends on their home form, says Sevilla’s Coach.
“We know that we must continue, that the League is not yet over and that our optimism must be tempered. We must find a balance based on reality,” commented Emery to reporters post-match.
“We wanted and continue to want to find that continuity in our game at the Sanchez Pizjuan. Against a great opponent we must continue along the same line and even in defeat we must insist on playing out an intense game from the start to try and subdue our opponents.
“The team has looked for this and when they have had their chances, they have had success. We must continue in this form because after three games without a win, we are still here and still strong.
“The self-esteem has not been damaged because there are games left, we have our chances and we know that what is most important is what we do at home.”
