Lionel Messi characterised Bayern Munich’s dominance over Barcelona on Tuesday as a result of their ‘physical superiority’.
The Germans ran out 4-0 winners in the first leg of this Champions League semi-final, with an off-key Messi frustrated in attack.
“We need to pick ourselves up, try and finish things off in the league and then try and turn this tie around,” the Argentine told UEFA’s official website post-match.
“They were a lot stronger than us – physically superior in fact. It's a pity what happened but we have to go on.
“We have to lift ourselves for the second leg and in the Liga. We will look to bounce back from this.”
