Willy Caballero was left heartbroken at Malaga’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund, which ended the Spaniards’ run in the Champions League.
The Anchovies were on the verge of sealing a spot in the semi-finals of the competition in their debut season, only for Dortmund to hit with two late goals in a 3-2 win.
“We're all devastated. We played really well and threw away our place in the semi-finals in the last minute,” reflected Caballero, who had earlier on the night produced some important stops in goal.
“It's a bitter pill to swallow. There was a big crowd of players involved in their third goal and unfortunately we didn't manage to clear the ball – although we should have.
“We shouldn't let our heads drop after this, though. We have to look forward and set ourselves fresh targets for the future.”
