Tito Vilanova has been confirmed as having returned to Barcelona, after two months of treatment in New York.
The 44-year-old had been in America in recent weeks receiving treatment as part of his recovery from a second round of cancer on one of his salivary glands, discovered and operated on last December.
Following on from the club’s confirmation of his return being due this week, the Coach has now touched down in Catalonia early on Tuesday morning.
Barcelona have confirmed his return via a statement on their website today, where they also say that he will then go home to rest.
This evening’s training will be held once more by assistant Coach Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira, with Vilanova to be ‘progressively incorporated’ back into the dynamics of the first team.
